What, if anything, does MySQLBackup do to actually verify that the initial dump is complete? Or is it relying on myqsldump to detect and report errors?

You may say this will never happen, but I closed the console window while a scheduled backup was running and still got an email saying the backup had succeeded. The dump was truncated and couldn't be restored.

Thank you for reporting this but I'm not clear what console window did you close? Do you mean you may see a console window appear when backup is running in scheduled mode (not manual)?

Yes, on my system (Windows 7) an empty console window appears when a scheduled backup starts. It just sits there with a flashing cursor until the backup finishes.

The default - Windows Task Scheduler. It's just a daily single database backup.

One suggestion: read the end of the dump file. Especially if the comments option is switched on, it's very simple to verify that a complete dump has been written out. Even without comments it shouldn't be that difficult.

Please try version 1.1.5, it should be fixed there.

Thanks, that has fixed it. One small quibble: in your error report, "incompleted" should be either "incomplete" or "uncompleted".
