SQLBackupAndFtp Version: 7.1.1.24330
Vista SP2

Scheduled jobs fail to run. Event log shows:
CreateProcAU: The type of the token is inappropriate for its attempted use. (1349)

The jobs run to completion if launched manually but will fail when started with the scheduler.

I've tried different network user id's with no luck. Any suggestions?

Regards,
Rock

Hi,

Please try to launch the service with local system account.
Pay attention, you can specify user account for a scheduled job at "Advanced Settings" window of SQLBackupAndFTP application.

That is where I set the user.

I set the user to a local userid that has admin privs. We still get the same error

It looks like this issue is related to your security policies.
Please try to launch the service with local system account.

Excacly what DOES that mean?

I just ran into this same issue. Works when using 'Run Now', fails with scheduler. I'm on *** 7.4.6 PRO ***.

Used local system account AND a system admin user account.

AND, what is 'SBF Service'? Your own custom built scheduler? If so, you should be able to tell us what 'type of the token' in the message means. Right?

Been over a week since the previous user posted with no reply. Do we need management to file a ticket under our PRO extended support agreement?

Thanks.

Hi,

The discussion was continued by email.
Please check the user account of "SqlBackupAndFtp Service" have these privileges enabled in the Local Security Policy:
- Act as part of the operating system
- Create a token object
- Log on as a batch job

Local System account should have these privileges by default.

If you still cannot fix the issue, please take a note:
Typically, the Error_bad_token_type error message can be brought on by Microsoft Windows system file failure. Broken system data files are usually a real hazard to the health and wellbeing of any machine.

There can be several situations that will cause a system file error. An unfinished install, an unfinished uninstall, bad erasure of utilities or devices. It could also be caused if the system is infected by a virus or adware or spyware invasion or through an improper shut down of the computer system. Any one of the preceding activities may very well end up in the erasure or data corruption of Windows system files. A corrupted system file will give you absent and incorrectly linked information and records required for the accurate operation of the system.

I had the same issue and have confirmed that checking the Local Security Policy ("Start" -> "Run" -> "secpol.msc") indicated that my "SYSTEM" account did not have these privileges.

The default security policy had (most likely) been altered in my scenario. We are running on a Rackspace cloud server which has some aspects of the Windows build altered.

Changing the policy as described above however, did NOT fix my issue ("SYSTEM" NOW has the 3 policies). I can confidently guarantee I don't have any corrupt files, as this is a fresh install of Windows Server 2008 from Rackspace Cloud's default images.

Are there any other policies that should be enabled or changed beyond the 3 mentioned above?

Hi,

We did a number of tests. As a result we have the account of the service should have these 3 privileges and access to <CommonProgramData>\Pranas.NET\SQLBackupAndFTP folder to read configuration.
It's a pity, but we still cannot reproduce the issue...

Could you please try to create a local admin account, grant these privileges, assign it to "SqlBackupAndFtp Service", restart the service and check the scheduler?

Please try to resolve the issue by steps:
- Uninstall SQLBackupAndFTP software.
- Reboot your system.
- Install SQLBackupAndFTP software and configure scheduler.
