I'm having problems connecting to our SQL Server.
I have already successfully connected to it from one of our Client PC's. I'm now trying to set it up on the Server - because I had problems getting SqlServerAndFTP to be able to save the Backup to a Folder on another server. So since it will eventually have to run on the Server anyway, I thought I'd give it a go on the Server.
I'm working on a Server called GEM-SERVER. It is a virtual Server running Windows Server 2003, under Hyper-V inside a Windows 2008 R2 Server. I'm using SQLBackupAndFTP 7.2.6. Our SQL Server Instance is GEMSQLSRVR. Our SQL Database is GEMSQLDB. We are using the MSDE version of SQL Server. When I try to connect to SQL Server, using Server Name GEM-SERVER\GEMSQLSRVR and our usual SQL Server Authentication, it works using SQL Server 2005 Express and SQLServerAndFTP on a Client. It also works when I test the SQL Connection from SQLServerAndFTP on GEM-SERVER. BUT when I click 'Save & Close', I get:
"ERROR: Couuld not load file or assembly 'System.Core, Version=3.5.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b77a5c561934e089' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified."
GEMSQLDB is showing in the list of Databases, but it is 'greyed out'. ANY IDEAS?

Is .Net Framework 3.5 installed on your system? Check, please.

NO. GEM-SERVER only has Microsoft .Net Framework 2.0. Is 3.5 a pre-requisite?

This made me realise that as GEM-SERVER is a Virtual Server with a somewhat limited purpose in life, we had probably never run a full WIndows Update on it. So I did so. Retried SQLBackupAndFTP. It connected first time. MANY THANKS.
