Microsoft Teams

SqlBackupAndFTP can send notifications to Microsoft Teams through Incoming Webhook. To configure this channel, you need the Incoming Webhook URL.

Where to Get the Webhook URL

To send notifications to Microsoft Teams, you need to obtain the webhook URL:

  1. Open Microsoft Teams and go to the team and channel that should receive notifications.
  2. Open the channel menu and choose the Manage channel.

  1. Find Incoming Webhook or another suitable webhook or workflow for incoming HTTP requests.

  1. Open the webhook setup and specify a connection name.

  1. Select the channel where the webhook should send notifications and complete the webhook creation.

  1. After the webhook is created, Teams will display the ready-to-use Webhook URL. Copy it.

  1. Paste this URL into the application settings and click Test.

Practical Notes

  • If the channel is intended only for incidents, it is usually enough to enable only On Failure.
  • For different environments, it is convenient to create separate channels, for example Teams – Prod and Teams – Dev.
