Plain<\/code>\u2014 Creates a
.sql<\/code> file for database reconstruction. This is an open format that can be opened and edited.<\/li>\n
Custom<\/code>\u2014 Creates a backup in a special format that can be passed to pg_restore for database restoration. This format type performs compression on-the-fly, and the resulting backup will be compressed immediately.<\/li>\n
Tar<\/code> \u2014 Creates an archive in .tar format, which can be unpacked using the corresponding utility. The unpacked table data will be stored in separate files.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n
