If the following error message happens:

[DST-1:1003#53] Destination error: Failed to open "\\networkpath\backupfolder" destination connection. > The network path was not found

then it means that SQLBackupAndFTP could not access the network path.

This may be due to the following reasons:

1. The network path is not available for the server. To check if it is available, try to open it via Windows Explorer.
2. A user name and password isn’t specified for network access

Note, by default, a backup job is run from under the local system user – as a rule, this user does not have permission to access network directories.
