Authorizing SQLBackupAndFTP to Access Google Services

You can authorize the SQLBackupAndFTP application installed on your computer to interact with Google services (such as Google Drive and Gmail) via OAuth. Access is granted only to the features you explicitly enable in the application.

What Data Does SQLBackupAndFTP Access and How Is It Used?

The scope of access depends on the Google service you enable:

Google Drive

SQLBackupAndFTP can create, upload, download, and delete backup files that it manages in your Google Drive. Access is limited to files created by the application and does not provide access to your entire Google Drive.

Gmail

SQLBackupAndFTP can send email notifications about backup, restore, and maintenance jobs. This requires access to your Google account email address and permission to send emails using that account. SQLBackupAndFTP does not read, access, or modify your Gmail messages.

How Does SQLBackupAndFTP Access Google Services?

Access is provided via OAuth using tokens issued by Google. Your Google password is never transmitted. Tokens are used solely to interact with the specific Google services you selected.

How Does SQLBackupAndFTP Store Authorization Data?

OAuth tokens are stored locally on your computer in encrypted form within a SQLite database. Tokens are not transmitted to or stored on our servers.

Does SQLBackupAndFTP Share Google User Data with Third Parties?

SQLBackupAndFTP does not transmit Google user data off your computer, does not send it to our servers, and does not use it for selling, renting, marketing, advertising, profiling, or any purposes unrelated to the application's functionality.

Marketing

When you use our Services, we send you emails. Some of them are a part of the service — like confirmation of password change, notification or service failure, notification of a service change or availability of a new product version, or to reply to or inform you of a support issue. You can not opt out of receiving these messages as they are part of the service. To stop receiving these messages you must discontinue using the service. Note that while the information in our live system is deleted right away, for a limited time some of your data may remain in our backups.
